Each and every element of this seemingly chaotic necklace is on the right place. I've managed to close the essence of life in this piece and silver was my only medium here. I've treasured those ornate sterling beads for a long time and in this necklace they were finally given proper meaning. The elements, which were hand-crafted by me, combine everything into an astonishing and quite long whole.
Rich cluster pendant consists of what's most important in my life. Silver oval bead in the wire-woven cap stands for a safe home. Long bead with floral pattern reminds me of my childhood spent in the countryside, where people live in harmony with nature and their life is timed by changing seasons. Celtic witch's knot is a symbol of the unknown recesses of my soul. The heart is obviously love - what would life be without love? But the heart is accompanied by a thorny teardrop - it's suffering which our fate serves from time to time. The chain is decorated with other symbols related to life. I call the triple knot the family knot - the three interwoven coils in it symbolise a woman, a man and a child - the fruit of their love. Flat oval bead with dents is the fickle nature of fate - the path we think is ideal may sometimes turn out to be bumpy. Double chains fastened here and there show that life often forces us to choose paths. And last but not least, the toggle clasp, which was also hand-crafted by me from scratch. A circle and a line - two contraries, like good and evil, yin and yang, day and night...
The necklace was oxidised - it looks as if it is a family heirloom passed from one generation to another.
